Easy Gardening

Today I hope to make it over to my brother's house.  He has some raspberry plants he is willing to share.

Raspberries are a perennial.  That is to say, you plant them once and enjoy for years.  No starting from seed, no replanting every year.  Just once.  My kind of gardening.  Oh, I have my annuals, too.  I let you know in another post how I keep it easy.

Other perennials that feed us during the growing/harvesting seasons on my small in-town (less than 1/4 acre) property are strawberries, asparagus, fiddleheads, rhubarb, and apples.  I also want to add blueberries this year.

Blueberry bushes and raspberry canes can be used as a hedge of sorts.  So can asparagus when you let them go to seed.  Neat landscaping ideas abound.  Edible landscaping is becoming popular.  The practicality attracts me.  Eat and the yard looks good, too.

Afterall, I have neighbours to keep happy and teenagers to feed.
